    Shopify is great until it is not. When you need loyalty rules that break its templates, inventory in three countries, gift cards with weird logic, or an admin dashboard your team actually likes, you need a store built for your business. I run one myself. I know where the potholes are.

    Before you spend six figures on an engineering team, spend a few hours with someone who has been on the other side. I will read your code, talk to your engineers, look at your setup, and tell you what is going to bite you in eight months. I will also tell you what is fine and does not need touching. That is the more common answer.
